WHAT DO WE DO?
It is EPAMM’s goal to prevent, in every way, children’s abuse and ill treatment including disabled children. For this purpose, it coordinates, supervises, gives support and creates projects on prevention, carrying out also interdisciplinary tasks to guide and support families. It promotes, favours and carries out studies on the subject through scientific or social activities, giving talks and courses about prevention or detection of an abuse or ill treatment.
With this purpose the members of the institution visit schools, Assistance Centres, Parishes or Parents Associations, showing a Prevention video and subsequent debate. It organizes Seminars, congresses, investigation tasks, gathering of information, network tasks with public and private institutions.
It has a consultancy service via Internet in charge of specialized professionals in Therapeutics, Law and Health. It has an SOS phone line during 24 hs. It creates commissions and work and study groups to prevent abuse and ill treatment. It tries , through specific actions, to avoid children or disabled ones to be revictimized , when the fact has already occurred. It implements specific education campaigns “in Situ”, to avoid disabled children to be born, and introduces measures to avoid potential abuses. ( room promiscuity, drugs, alcohol).
It is the Institution philosophy to arrive before the facts occur .It arrives at the risk places where it considers prevention can be useful.
It favours ideas, plans and projects exchange with Argentine and foreign institutions. It gets study scholarships. It has a bibliographic Information Centre open to the community, carrying out publications on this subject in order to inform about prevention. It donates a didactic video as well as written material to deprived schools. It gives consultancy on the subject to governmental agencies from Argentina and other countries, as well as to Argentine or foreign private entities. It suggests and boosts before public, national, provincial and municipal authorities, legal and/or administrative measures to rise consciousness about the seriousness of the problem and the need to commit oneself to prevent it.
WHY?
Because E.P.A.M.M. is convinced of the importance and significance of ill treatment and abuse prevention within the family circle.
Because its members have assumed the serious commitment to work on what is fundamental in a so called civilized world.
Less number of ill treatment and abuse, less the number of destroyed children and teenagers.
Less number of abuse and ill treatment, less the number of drug, alcohol and criminality.
Because when a person receives aggression in stead of love , at any level, the person will grow up sick and unhappy.
FOR WHOM:
Only one essential requirement is needed to be a member of the Association : that each partner, each collaborator and each volunteer make an effort from his/her own place.
EPAMM always has a vacancy and a task to be carried out.
Any academic or very simple assistance will be valued because what joins us is to know whom we are working for. But the task is not enough, the requirement demanded by EPAMM is enough love to feel that:
